Efficiency in change processes can save a lot of time in an organization. The speed of change is crucial in many areas when competitive advantages are to be gained in a market.
At Business Learning we work in change management in a dynamic and compelling way, where participants are allowed to switch between theory and practice. We work with change management in many types of companies and industries, as well as teach change management. We are giving action learning lectures, among other practices, at Aalborg University’s Technical MBA Education (MMT).
Examples of Change Pro
One of the tools we use is Change Pro, where a concrete change is to be rooted in an organization. Change Pro is a computer-based learning tool developed by INSEAD professors to help executives increase their ability to implement change. We often experience the introduction of useful tools, followed by concrete exercises in implementing their own changes, to give a boost to the company’s desired changes.
In a fun and engaging way, business understanding allows participants to test themselves, as well as their ability to lead a business in a realistic environment. Participants strengthen their strategic perspective and increase the ability to develop and implement a strategy as well as make healthy business decisions.
Business Learning offers business understanding at two different levels. A concentrated version –“The Executive Challenge” – at approx. ½ day, and a more profound business understanding
“The Competitive Advantage” – over 2 days. Both target the business or network needs
- The Executive Challenge is an entertaining and inspiring way of sharing experience in strategic management. Through a real-world business simulation, the participants’ ability to make the right decisions is challenged at a very pace. The simulation requires that the participants act as senior executives. The right strategy must be made and later implemented in a competitive market with a fierce battle for the customers’ favour. We often do this simulation for VL Groups, Leadership Networks, Boards, Top Level Groups and MBA programs.
- The Competitive Advantage is an in-depth simulation in an interactive business environment where intensive management decisions are taken in strategy, marketing, quality, development, production and finance. Participants themselves experience the group processes that arise in a top management team and are equipped to put themselves in the customer’s place, get out of the accounts and to work with where products and markets are moving. This simulation is aimed specifically at business consultants with customer responsibility, heads of branch and credit audits, auditors and lawyers.

A tool we often use to create results, long-term relationships, win/win situations, energy & motivation is a collaborative simulation called Trusted Partner. The Trusted Partner typically focuses on the following areas:
- How do we achieve results and good relationships with confidence in the stakeholder?
- What is the value of effective communication in the organization?
- What is needed to create motivation and energy?
- How do we optimize shared resources?
In Trusted Partner, participants will be taken back in time, to the Scottish Highlands where the participants will be dressed up. The simulation is also available in a business edition without dress, where the style is more formal, and the yield of experimental learning is the same. We also make Trusted Partner for the entire company’s employees with participants from 6 to 300 at a time.
If you have the challenge of joining departments, integrating acquisitions, working with new collaborators, starting production in other countries or just wanting to understand each other in the company, it’s important to create a strong culture as well as understanding and accepting differences.
Analysis shows that diversity is important for optimization and development of the company. With diversity and aggregation of companies, there is an increased need to understand different cultures and how to work with them. As part of cultural understanding, we are working on learning through a compassionate and educational simulation called BaFa BaFa. Throughout the exercises, participants will be able to see their organization through a new set of lenses, identifying the norms, values and behaviors that are necessary to utilize the full potential of a diverse team of employees. Participants will be inspired to reflect on their own attitude and behavior, so as to achieve a value-creating synergy.
