Defining a new strategy in the context of organizational changes and growth ambitions
Strategy | Unik System Design
Business Learning supported Unik’s leadership team in developing a new vision, mission, and three-year strategy in response to organizational changes and evolving growth ambitions.
Unik System Design is a Danish property management IT company with around 225 employees, recognized for its high-performance systems and deep expertise in efficient tenancy administration.
Challenge
In the last few years, Unik had undergone organizational changes, including entering new strategic partnerships and demerging its lawyer IT system business, and needed to define and present a new strategy for its partners. At the same time, Unik was growing rapidly and preparing to expand its PropTech solutions into other European markets. This required a clear strategic direction and a coordinated approach within the leadership team. With a busy leadership agenda, there was a need for a strategy process facilitated in a structured way.
Approach
Business Learning and Unik quickly defined the task and established a plan to develop a new strategic direction within one month. The process included interviews with key stakeholders and the formation of a core team responsible for preparing input and material for the leadership team. This enabled an efficient process with step-by-step discussions and approvals, supporting both strategic clarity and leadership development.
Impact
The process resulted in a new strategic direction that was approved by the strategic partners. The leadership team defined a clear vision and mission, a concise three-year direction, and a set of Must Win Battles with defined scope and ownership. The process ensured involvement of the extended leadership team before and after board approval. As part of the new growth direction, Unik System Design later acquired the Swedish property management IT provider LEB AB.
