Business Learning supported Anker Andersen in developing an ambitious growth strategy to enable the global launch of new technology products and strengthen the company’s sustainability agenda.

Anker Andersen is a Danish equipment manufacturing company owned by the Swedish RVM Group. The company develops and delivers deposit and return systems that make bottle return and recycling simple, efficient, and scalable. Anker Andersen is a global leader in handling return bottles and plays a key role in enabling circular packaging systems worldwide. 

Challenge

For many years, Anker Andersen has sold its equipment globally in a volatile market. Increased focus on sustainability and new EU legislation created strong growth potential, supported by new technological solutions developed under RVM ownership. To support a global launch of these new products, the company needed a clear growth strategy and stronger collaboration within the leadership team following the appointment of a new CEO. 

Approach

Business Learning was selected based on its experience in both strategy and leadership development. The process included interviews with the board and structured dialogue with the leadership team to clarify Anker Andersen’s unique market position.

Using the Strategic Diamond framework as a common structure, the leadership team worked through key strategic choices on markets, offerings, and growth priorities in a focused, step-by-step process. This ensured clear decisions, shared understanding, and progress throughout the strategy development. 

Impact

The process resulted in the new strategy Next Level ’29, approved by the strategic partners. The leadership team defined a clear vision and mission, a concise three-year direction, and a set of strategic Lighthouses with clear ownership.

The process involved both leaders and employees before and after board approval and helped align the organization around common goals, priorities, and the initiatives that create the greatest value and impact.
